Chiang Mai Rajabhat University Organizes a Ceremony to Honor His Majesty the King on the Occasion of His Birthday Anniversary, July 28, 2025

On July 25, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Chatree Maneekosol, President of Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, presided over a ceremony to honor His Majesty the King. The ceremony included offerings of gold and silver trays, well-wishing messages, and an oath-taking ceremony to pledge allegiance as good civil servants and pillars of the nation. Participants also engaged in the activities titled “Tree Planting and Fish Releasing in Honor of His Majesty the King” at the Wiang Bua Reservoir and Safe Vegetable Garden of the Sufficiency Economy Learning Center and New Theory Agriculture at Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, Mae Rim Campus.

These activities were organized to continue, preserve, and build upon the royal initiatives in conserving natural resources and the environment, while fostering environmental awareness among faculty, staff, and students. As part of the event, the university president planted a "Chok Anan" mango tree, symbolizing prosperity, stability, and growth as a foundation for development in all dimensions. Meanwhile, university administrators, faculty members, staff, and students planted jackfruit trees, considered auspicious for promoting success in work and life, and 300 “Thong Urai” trees, known for their vibrant yellow blossoms that bloom year-round, symbolizing prosperity and good fortune.

Additionally, the participants released 50,000 silver barb fish, generously provided by the Chiang Mai Inland Fisheries Research and Development Center, into the Wiang Bua Reservoir. This initiative aimed to restore the ecosystem, enhance biodiversity, and create a source of natural food. Silver barb fish are native species that are easy to raise and grow quickly.

The event also featured the distribution of tree saplings and safe vegetables at the demonstration plots, promoting safe vegetable cultivation using the New Theory Agriculture concept. This initiative serves as a model for local development based on the late King’s philosophy. The project reflects the significant role of Chiang Mai Rajabhat University in community development, environmental conservation, and creating sustainable learning networks, aligning with the university’s six-year strategic plan (2022–2027).

The ceremony was attended by a large number of university administrators, faculty members, staff, and students, making it a meaningful event that underscores the university's commitment to sustainability and environmental conservation.
